The Friday approaching Labor Day Weekend, Darryl English, President of Wolverine was nominated to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. For anyone that may not be familiar with this challenge, the rules are pretty simple:
• Within 24 hours of being challenged, participants have to record a video of themselves in continuous footage. First, they are to announce their acceptance of the challenge followed by pouring ice into a bucket of water. Then, the bucket is to be lifted and poured over the participant’s head. Then the participant can call out a challenge to other people.
• Participants choose to donate, perform the challenge, or do both. The participant is expected to donate $10 if they have poured the ice water over their head or donate $100 if they have not.
To make this process a bit more interesting, he has decided to complete the challenge on Friday, August 29th, at the end of our scheduled employee of the month ceremony. Since ALS is a great cause, he will be making personal donation to the charity. Anyone that would like, may participate in dumping the water over his head (think several trash cans full of ice water are in his future), in exchange for a small donation – $1.00 or more. In addition to his personal donation, Darryl English will match the funds raised by our team – with all the money going to the ALS.
